Art, Antiques, Design, and Books: The San Francisco Fall Show
This year marks the 40th anniversary of The San Francisco Fall Show, and in celebration, the theme is Ruby Jubilee. American fashion designer Bill Blass said, "Red is the ultimate cure for sadness." After the show's two-year absence, COUPAR is elated that it returns to Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion and runs October 13-16, 2022. It is the leading international art, antiques, and design fair on the West Coast and features many of the world's most distinguished dealers. There is more cause to celebrate as The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco is the new beneficiary for the Opening Night Gala on October 12.
COUPAR is proud to be this year's Book Signing Jubilee Sponsor. The event held on October 13 from 5 to 7 PM features two dozen esteemed designers. These include San Francisco designers Ken Fulk and Orlando Diaz-Azcuy of ODADA, New York designers Stephen Sills and Alex Papachristidis, and Dallas designer Cathy Kincaid. For an international note, Emma Burns and Philip Hooper of Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler and Claud Cecil Gurney of de Gournay travel from London.
In addition, Oldroyd, Papachristidis, Kincaid, Burns, and Hooper will transform the Grand Entry Hall to illustrate elements of the Ruby Jubilee theme with four vignettes. The designers will collaborate with show sponsor de Gournay to create a unique hand-painted wallpaper for each display. Against this backdrop, they will incorporate pieces from the show floor and elsewhere. We expect to see Chinese red lacquer, Persian Serapi rugs, crimson Murano glass chandeliers, and sang de boeuf porcelains.
