Gina Yrrizarry is the Marketing Director at Coupar and her dedication to our clients combined with strong leadership inspires us all. She manages the communications team with her creativity and depth of knowledge in marketing communications. This month, Gina gives us an inside look at why she joined Coupar, what she enjoys in her free time and a few restaurant recommendations we're dying to try.
What attracted you to Coupar?
I wanted to be part of a team of smart, creative and innovative thinkers that are bringing the best practices of business and marketing to the design ecosystem. My background in marketing communications is diverse with experience in a global communications agency, fine arts non-profit, publishing and tech start-up. When I came to Coupar it was serendipitous as I could bring the best of what I’ve learned professionally and dovetail it with my passion area: design.
How would you describe your interior design style?
I’m an observer of all areas of design and love to learn about the historical significance of how and why people live the way they do. I appreciate all eras and styles of design for this reason, but for myself I like an eclectic mix that is interesting, comfortable, has some roots in traditional decor with California living in mind.
What is one item you could never live without?
Besides my husband and son, the ocean.
What are your top 3 favorite restaurants in San Francisco?
Zuni Cafe (the roast chicken)
Florio Cafe (we’ve been there at least 50 times over the years)
Puerto Alegre (best homestyle Mexican meals)
Favorite place to travel?
Anywhere in Europe for the museums, history and people watching from cafes.
What is your favorite summer activity?
As a SF dweller, I must escape to warmer locations like the wine country.
Who do you admire and why?
My late maternal grandma, Vanette, who was born in 1912 and lived to be one month shy of 100. She was a curious person who was always learning until the day she died. She had some of the most interesting stories from growing up in Chicago, coming of age there during the Great Depression, and having a husband who went to war for 4 years during WWII. I aspire to have her spry nature and zest for living.

What is one thing on your bucket list?
A month-long cooking tour through Southern Europe, my favorite ingredients and cuisines.
What is your favorite hobby?
Cooking for friends and family.
