Kendra Boutell joined our team with an extensive background in writing, marketing, and PR within the interior design industry. In addition to being an Account Executive at COUPAR, she is an editor at large for California Homes Magazine and contributes to other publications such as the Nob Hill Gazette. We chatted with Kendra to get to get to know her and a few of her favorite things!
What attracted you to Coupar?
The juxtaposition of design with business; Krista Coupar and her team brilliantly combine two sometimes disparate disciplines.
What is your favorite interior design style?
Old school San Francisco: Billy Gaylord, Tony Hail, John Dickinson, Michael Taylor. Their designs are timeless and layered with an in-depth knowledge of furnishings, art, and antiques.
Whole Foods takeout.
Red or white wine?
Favorite place to travel?
I would love to go back to Portugal. Lisbon is similar to San Francisco in geography, climate, and earthquakes. But it's culture is older and influenced by the Portuguese maritime discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries.
What is your favorite winter activity?
Being warm in my cottage drinking chai tea and writing.
Who do you admire and why?
The novelist Ursula K. Le Guin just passed away. She explored human nature through the genres of fantasy and science fiction.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
I will give you a quote instead: “Dream tonight of peacock tails, Diamond fields and spouter whales." -Thomas Pynchon
Morning or night person?
I'm a night owl who has adapted to the life of a morning person.
What's one item you wish you could have in your home?
